Explicación del capítulo
El segundo lote corresponde a Simeón por sus linajes dentro de la posesión de Judá. Sus poblaciones son Bersabee, Sabee, Molada, Hasersual, Bala, Asem, Eltholad, Bethul, Harma, Siceleg, Bethmarchaboth, Hasersusa, Bethlebaoth y Sarohen. El texto da trece ciudades con sus aldeas. También nombra Remmon, Athor y Asan y da cuatro ciudades con sus aldeas. Todas las aldeas alrededor de estas ciudades se extienden hasta Baalath Beer Ramath en la región del sur. La historia del capítulo
El lote de Simeón tiene una razón explícita: la parte de Judá es demasiado grande. El relato después sigue los lotes tercero a séptimo, nombrando las fronteras, poblaciones, aldeas y linajes de Zabulon, Issachar, Aser, Nephtali y Dan. A la lista de Dan sigue una acción separada: sus hijos luchan por Lesem, la pasan a espada, se asientan allí y la nombran por su padre. Después de terminarse la división tribal, Israel da a Josue la ciudad que pide bajo el mandamiento del Señor. El capítulo termina nombrando a los repartidores y el lugar de los lotes. Da la razón para la colocación de Simeón pero no proporciona un motivo de presión o migración para el ataque de Dan.
Lecciones para recordar
- La ubicación de Simeón tiene una causa expresada. Su herencia está dentro de Judá porque el lote de Judá es demasiado grande. Conservar esa razón explica la disposición sin añadir una afirmación sobre paz, cooperación o población.
- Las asignaciones incluyen lugares y fronteras particulares. Las direcciones, listas de aldeas, asignaciones familiares y totales expresados pertenecen al registro, incluso donde los nombres visibles no coinciden con un total expresado. Deben permanecer como se dan en vez de ajustarse silenciosamente.
- La conquista de Dan y la ciudad de Josue son acontecimientos distintos. Dan lucha por Lesem y se asienta allí; Josue recibe Thamnath Saraa después de la división tribal, la edifica y habita allí. El relato expresa cada resultado sin dar al hombre o la tribu un motivo no expresado.

19:49. And when he had made an end of dividing the land by lot to each one by their tribes, the children of Israel gave a possession to Josue the son of Nun in the midst of them, 19:50. According to the commandment of the Lord, the city which he asked for, Thamnath Saraa, in mount Ephraim: and he built up the city, and dwelt in it. 19:51. These are the possessions which Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families, and of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed by lot in Silo, before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and they divided the land.
