Chapter breakdown
Wisdom 10 attributes preservation and restoration of the first-formed father to wisdom, granting him governance after sin. The angry unjust man perished through murdering his brother; a separate edition note identifies Cain. Water destroyed earth, then wisdom healed it by directing the just through contemptible wood; the note identifies Noe and explains the cause as Cain's race's wickedness. Amid nations' conspiracy wisdom preserved the just blameless and strong against compassion for his son; the note identifies Abraham and explains strength at the commanded sacrifice. Wisdom delivered the fleeing just man from burning Pentapolis; the note identifies Lot and the five cities. The passage describes smoking desolation, unripening fruit and a salt pillar as a memorial of incredulity. Neglect of wisdom leaves ignorance and visible folly; wisdom delivers her attendants from sorrow.
Wisdom guided the just fleeing his brother, showed God's kingdom and holy knowledge, honored and accomplished labors, stood by him against deceit, protected against enemies and seducers and gave a strong conflict revealing her might. Notes identify Jacob and conflict with the angel. She stayed with the sold just man in the pit and bonds until kingdom scepter, power against oppressors, exposed lying accusers and everlasting glory; the note identifies Joseph. She delivered the just people from oppressive nations and entered God's servant's soul against dreadful kings through signs and wonders; a note identifies Moses. She gave wages, wonderful guidance, daytime cover and nighttime starlight, brought them through Red Sea waters and drowned enemies. The passage then says she brought them from hell's depth, and the just took spoils and praised God's name and victorious hand. Wisdom opened dumb mouths and made infants' tongues eloquent; dumb people and infants are not merged into mute infants, and starlight is not replaced with flame.
